Former Alazhar​
Teacher Now an Author

 

Ms. Cheryl Batavia was a member of the Alazhar Family for four years.

​

Observing animals is an activity she has enjoyed all her life. She grew up exploring the farm country of Pennsylvania and the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.

​

The Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Miami Beach are some of the places she has called home.

​

Hajj Simulation

Hajj Simulation is vital factor of our extracurricular activities in order to educate our students on importance of Hajj and how it is performed. Students enjoy performing Tawaf, camping at Mina, throwing pebbles at Muzdalifa, and traveling to Arafat during the Hajj Pilgrimage Simulation.   
Orange Bowl Contest

The orange bowl creative art contest is presented by the Florida Prepaid College Board. This contest is for any student attending a Broward County or Miami-Dade County School to submit a art piece, which includes a picture of the orange bowl mascot and consists of the theme "Healthy Kids Dream Big"

 

 

Student Government Association
​
"The student council helps share students' ideas, interests, and concerns with teachers and school principals. They often also help raise funds for school-wide activities, including social events, community projects, helping people in need and school reform."
United We Serve

​

Middle School students took a trip to Gardens of Sahaba to help make meals for those in need. Alhumdulilah, our students helped make meals for 3,000 people!

 

Project Downtown

​

Our students took a trip with Project Downtown to help feed the less fortunate members of society. They learned important lessons and helped put a smile on people's faces.

Multicultural Day

​

Every year Alazhar school hosts a multicultural day to teach students about different countries' cultures and traditions. The students put on a show for their parents and teachers, and everyone has a great time.

Black History Month

​

During the month of February, our students were taught about Black History Month. Our students conducted research on many African American historical figures.
